May 29, 2024 | Greetings from Interim Pastor Rev. Brad Humphrey

It is a new season at Oak Grove Church. It is like the Texas weather, you know it is a new season but you are not sure what it will be like. It could be really hot, really cold or just right. It could flood, be in a drought or be just right to water the fields and lawns. Whatever the day brings we need to celebrate and see what God has in store. Each day is a new opportunity to see God at work no matter what the season brings. I hope you are aware that Rev. Kevin McClain is leaving Oak Grove after the service on June 2nd. We will be taking a love offering on June 2 to give you an opportunity to say thanks. Be prepared as God leads you. I have just received word, that I have been appointed to serve as interim pastor beginning June 3rd. We do not know how long this “season” will be but rest assured nothing will hamper Oak Grove Church continuing to be the great little church it has been for 144 years. I have been with you for five years serving as consultant, building improvement engineer,Sunday School teacher…

June 2024 | A Message from our Pastor

FROM OUR PASTOR With the highly anticipated convening General Conference in San Jose, Costa Rica, rapidly approaching, the Global Methodist Church is delighted to announce the launch of the convening  General Conference website. The website is currently in its first phase and will continue to expand as more information is solidified by the various General Conference committees. It will include pages for registration, travel information, prayer guides, recognition of sponsors, and more. The website will serve as the central hub for all information and updates related to the convening general conference. It will provide the latest and most accurate information about the General Conference, making it easy for people to stay informed and involved.  Per the instructions for doing so, all GM Church members and local churches can submit petitions for consideration. The website provides a seamless platform to do so. This makes the process efficient and organized for everyone involved. April 2024 | Message from our Pastor

Greetings, Oak Grove Methodist Church! I am sending out an email in an attempt to catch everyone up on all of the excitement of 2024. First, we will be having an Administrative Council Meeting on Sunday, April 28th, immediately following worship. All committee chairs are encouraged to attend and everyone is welcome. If you have any information that you would like to share at the meeting, please notify Chair David Leach or Assistant Chair Rev. Brad Humphrey. We look forward to hearing the word from Pastor Brad this Sunday, April 21. Pastor Brad will be preaching from John titled “See for Yourself.” We also want to thank Pastor Brad and all of those who helped with the remodel of the adult Sunday School classroom. It is larger with new carpet, paint, and TV. The adult Sunday School class meets at 9:00 am and, thanks to Gene and his helpers, there is always fresh coffee and donuts. We are still in a spirit of worship and celebration in the Easter Season and on April 28, we will resume our sermon series from 1 John “Love is Here.” This series will continue until the celebration of Pentecost on May 19th. We will…
