Rev. Brad Humphrey
Brad Humphrey is originally from Oklahoma City. He began in ministry in 1971 as a youth pastor a>er gradua?ng High School. He and Janie were married in 1973 [yes, we were young] and have two children and six grandchildren ranging in age from middle teens to the 20s.
Brad graduated from Oklahoma City University with a B.S. in statistics. He started seminary in 1975 at Perkins School of Theology and finished at Oral Roberts University in 1980. He has done post-seminary work in education, evangelism, and philosophy at Perkins, ORU, and the University of Oklahoma. He was licensed to preach in the United Methodist Church in 1973, ordained a deacon in 1976, and ordained an elder in 1980. In 2023, his credentials were moved to the Global Methodist Church as an ordained elder.
He has served churches all over Oklahoma [Shawnee, OKC, Davis, Muskogee, Okemah, Broken Arrow, Tulsa]. He was also a campus minister at the University of Oklahoma from 1989 to 2008, winning the Francis Asbury Award in 2004. He retired from active service in the UMC in 2015.
He and Janie have spent the past eight years traveling all over the United States with their dog, Zoe. They have visited all the major national parks [and a few smaller ones] and camped in every state in the lower United States. Alaska is the last remaining state to visit. While at the University of Oklahoma, Brad taught in the freshman programs and was teacher of the year in 2003. He was also on staff as a statistician and game analyst for the baseball team that won a national championship in 1994. He has been a volunteer and on call fire fighter with Okfuskee County, Oklahoma, and the Broken Arrow, Oklahoma fire, department with fire fighter training from Oklahoma State University Tech in Okmulgee, Oklahoma.
Brad and Janie have been active in Oak Grove Church since 2018 and look forward to what God has in store for the church.
